This form is for non-members of the TJA. If you are a TJA member who did not initially sign up for directory access, please request viewing access to directories through the Airtable forms linked in your account dashboard. If you would like to join the TJA in addition to requesting directory access, please use our membership signup form instead.
TJA members who opt into inclusion in the Freelancers and the PR directories are visible to approved hiring managers (for the Freelancers Directory) or PIOs/PR professionals (for the PR Directory).
To request the relevant access, you must fill out this form with a verifiable professional email address. The TJA team will review and approve your application.
The TJA does not directly facilitate or approve any releases, pitches, or other requests for coverage. Nor does it review or approve freelance opportunities.
To learn more about our directories, please read our FAQs.
Anyone who uses these directories in ways that violate our Code of Ethics may be removed from directory access or the organization.
Our organization operates on a very small budget and an all-volunteer team. Websites like this are expensive! This site has features that keep our members' information secure and our events private.
We know that trans journalists are often freelancers, and, like trans people broadly, face higher rates of unstable employment and on-the-job discrimination. So we keep membership free. However, if you're able to donate, even a few dollars goes a long way.
If 30 people signed up for a $5/mo donation, it would cover the monthly website costs for up to 500 members. If 50 people signed up, it would cover those costs for up to 2,000 members.
Any donation helps sustain a thriving community of hundreds of trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive journalists. Plus, a donation to our fiscal sponsor is tax-deductible.
