They’ll lead a short demo of voice exercises and speak about how voice training might support your workplace presentation and career goals. Plus, they’ll share some information on voice procedures and surgeries as well as tips on how to look for trans-competent providers near you, navigate the insurance world, and find services without coverage
This panel will be especially helpful for broadcast professionals in TV and radio but is applicable for everyone on every beat.

Kevin Dorman (they/them) is a non-binary speech-language pathologist (SLP) and owner of Prismatic Speech Services, a private practice which specializes in online gender-affirming voice work. Using their experience as a singer, voice actor, and vocal habilitation specialist, Kevin brings a diverse set of skills to the therapy space, and delights in assisting their clients find a place in their range that they feel more connected to. They are also a founding member of the Trans Voice Initiative (TVI), an organization of TGNC SLPs who provide continuing education for all in-community providers of gender-affirming voice services regardless of experience level.
Joseph Chang is a board-certified Otolaryngology- Head and Neck surgeon subspecializing in the treatment of voice, airway, and swallowing conditions. He completed medical school and residency training at the University of California, San Francisco, followed by fellowship training at Mount Sinai in New York City, and is currently an assistant professor at the University of Washington. His clinical and academic work have a specific focus on gender affirming voice care.
Jess MacKimm (they/them), MS, CCC-SLP, is a speech pathologist who specializes in the evaluation and treatment of voice and upper airway disorders at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA. Currently, Jess serves as the team lead for the Gender Affirming Voice program at UW Medicine, which aims to improve voice-gender congruence through a collaborative and multidisciplinary care model. In addition to one-on-one care, Jess also works to improve quality of and access to care for LGBTQIA+ people and streamline department processes.
Moderator: Tat Bellamy-Walker is a communities reporter at the Seattle Times. Their work focuses on social justice, race, economics, and LGBTQIA+ issues in the Pacific Northwest. They are also the program co-director of TJA's Peer Career Network, the organization's first mentorship program. Their work has appeared on NBC News, CNN, The Daily Beast and more.
