In today’s post-election climate, Latine journalists—especially those who are LGBTQ+ and Afro-Latine—face intensifying online attacks tied to their reporting and identities. This in-person safety workshop offers practical strategies to prepare for, respond to, and recover from online abuse and threats.
Led in partnership with NAHJ’s LGBTQ+ Task Force, PEN America, and the Trans Journalists Association, the session is designed to support journalists in building holistic self-defense practices and strengthening peer networks of care.
Speaker: Tat Bellamy-Walker, PEN America
This session is open to NAHJ 2025 Conference & Expo attendees.
